Director

Collaborative Pianist

Liz - Director: Liz is a lover of all things awesome: adventures, music, nature, and bikes. She is a professional musician and can be seen directing choirs, teaching K-5 music, coaching fitness classes, and playing keys/singing in her bands. Liz holds a BA in music business and vocal performance, and an MAE in Vocal Music Education.
Kathy - Collaborative Pianist: Kathy Henson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, her love of music writing manifested itself at an early age. With the guidance of her music teachers she entered into the State Composition Competition at age 16, where she won second place with her original piano composition "Edge of Silence." Throughout the years she has accompanied many singers and choirs and has played everywhere from local bars to convention concerts and lots of stuff in between. Today you will still find her behind the piano, as a composer, accompanist, vocal coach, choral & musical theater director for several local groups and ensembles in the Twin Cities area.

Sopranos

Deb - Soprano: Deb Pitton has a been a music lover all her life. She sang in high school and college choirs, as well as community choirs in other states. She’s acted and sang in community theater musicals and enjoys sharing the joy of song. A retired college professor, she is happy to find time to add singing back into her life.
Krys – soprano: Music has always been an important part of my life. I have been singing since I was in elementary school and have been a member of a choir since I was 8 years old. I was a singer at Luther College in the Cathedral and Collegiate choirs. Before joining NOTEable singers I sang with The Northwestern Singers in Austin and the St. Peter Choral Society. I am also a teacher of English Language Learners and enjoy reading and attending Minnesota Twins games.
Julie - Soprano: I have been singing and performing since I was itty bitty. I play the piano, guitar, accordion and ukelele. During the day, I am a piano teacher and Music Therapist. I work with pediatrics through eldercare. I have been singing on our church's worship team for over 20 years, but haven't been involved in a choir since college, so I am very excited to bring that back into my life! In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising, putzing in my garden & spending time with my husband and young adult children.
Debbie - Soprano: This is my first year with the NOTEable Singers. After raising 7 children over many decades and enjoying their fine arts, I decided to join some of them for myself! Here I am memorizing, singing, and dancing all at the same time! I want to thank the NOTEable Singers for all their help and patience. Big shout out to my husband and children for all the love and support!
Theresa - Soprano: I enjoy collaborating with such a hard working and talented group of women. I grew up in Bloomington and have enjoyed singing my whole life. I sing with our contemporary worship team, and assist in directing the children’s Praise Club at my church. I can often be found supporting my kids and husband at their various endeavors. I love dogs and the beauty and struggles of life. My motto to strive for is “work hard and be kind”
Megan - Soprano: There are many characters in my life story. I am a: daughter, granddaughter, sister, teacher (3rd grade Spanish Immersion) dancer, singer, church volunteer, friend, and so much more. My favorite role is being Auntie Megan to 5 beautiful kiddos! There are many things that I love to do. Wish there was enough time to do all of them! Skiing, reading, laughing, traveling, photography, dancing, singing, playing piano, watching movies, playing games. Music has always been a big part of my life! From dancing around the kitchen while mom was quizzing me on my spelling words, learning to play the piano, listening to my grandpa Al play the concertina, dad playing the oldies on the radio, grandpa Allan teaching me new songs to sing, making up silly songs with my mom and sister, and all my years in school choirs. I don't think I could ever give it up. To many wonderful memories when it comes to music in my life!
Becky - Soprano: This is my first year back with NOTEable singers after a hiatus of about 10 years to sing in the Harmonic Relief show choir with my wonderful husband Brady; and prior to that I was with this group for about 9 years! I have always performed; whether in musical theatre, bands, show choir or TV. I work at Optum currently as a Sr. Administrative Assistant for Legal. I am a big Sci Fi and Super Hero Geek and my fav hero is Wonder Woman. I LOVE the MN State Fair and belong to a group of Misfits that go to the MN and other Ren Fests each year. I have a spoiled and loving cat Kalea and my favorite people to be with are my family and those I consider to be family!
Lisa - soprano: I come from a family of enthusiastic car-ioke singers (our volume sometimes exceeds our talent). My kids are in college now, so they no longer have to die of embarrassment as I sing to the music playing in Home Depot. (I may have enjoyed chasing them around the store a little too much, as they pretended not to know me.) Singing makes me feel happy--I leave every practice and performance with a big smile on my face!
Kris – Soprano: I'm from Bloomington, graduated from the U of M, BA in Child Psychology and played drums in the U of M band. I later became the first female patrol officer in Edina (about a 100 years ago), retired and I am now Pilates instructor and teach Driver Improvement to senior citizens. I love theater-especially musicals and I've been on the Board of Directors for Eden Prairie Players community theater for 11 years. I got my feet wet as a cast member in Peter Pan, Bye Bye Birdie and Music Man, but I love NOTEable Singers even more! My favorite hobbies are golfing, making gourmet food. I like the challenge of learning new music and sharing my love of music with others. The group is committed and shares the same love. I admire the talented women in the group and their dedication.

Mezzos

Brenda - Mezzo: I am so excited to join NOTEable Singers for my first season! I love singing and musical theatre but am not a great actress, so I feel like show choir will be a great gig for me! I have been singing in choirs since middle school but took a few years off after college. Most recently I have been singing with the General Mills Corporate Choir and Twin Cities Beer Choir, plus I performed in a local production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame right before the COVID crisis. I can't wait to make music with these wonderful ladies!
Mary - Mezzo Soprano: I've been around music all my life -- my grandparents and great-aunt and uncle sang barbershop quartet, so family holidays were full of piano, banjo and ukulele renditions of old songs. I started playing ukulele in kindergarten; was in school choirs as soon as I was old enough; got my first guitar at age 10; played and sang in various church and school groups all through high school and college. When another show choir mom invited me to join NOTEables, I jumped in and have had a great time for 10 seasons.
Charu - Mezzo: I am a deep lover of music and dance across all genres and cultures. I joined Noteables for 3 years back in 2014 and had to leave for some time. I am very excited to be back, as music is not only a source of pure joy but also therapy for me. I work as a Technical Support Specialist for Emerson and live and work in Shakopee. I love to read, sing, and go for walks.
Meg Lehmann – Mezzo: Meg is working on finishing two bachelor degrees this coming spring and hopes to change careers once those are complete. Meg enjoys reading (almost any genre, preferably with a physical book but digital books will do the trick too), singing, and catching up with family and friends. Meg loves her NOTEable ladies and enjoys the chance to make friends with so many different amazing women. But really, Meg is mostly the snack person for two tiny humans who don't take no for an answer.
Jennifer (Jake) - Mezzo: I grew up in Bloomington and graduated from Kennedy High School. Monday thru Friday I work as a Human Resources Director. During my spare time i enjoy spending with my 2 grandchildren and I am a volunteer/Board Member of an organization the trains service dogs.
Jen - Mezzo: Jennifer joined NOTEable Singers in 2013 and was so happy to find a group where she could sing and dance every week. When she is not singing and dancing, Jennifer is spending time with her family or caring for animals as a shelter veterinarian. She also enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, and spending time at coffee shops.

Altos

Hannah - Alto: I'm really into animals! In my free time, I like to draw, play the piano, and go to concerts. I love to sing and dance with the NOTEable singers! I always look forward to seeing these epic ladies every week!
Annette - Alto: I was in Choir in Junior High and until I joined NOTEable singers, I wasn't in any other choir. I played the violin in Orchestra through High School and some in College. My niece is a member of NOTEable singers and she invited me to join and so I did in 2014-15 season. I love it. I never imagined being in a show choir and I enjoy it thoroughly.
Jani – Alto: 1. I make my bed EVERY morning. 2. I like getting up on the roof to clean my gutters and get a birds-eye view of the neighborhood. 3. I have a terrible memory. 4. I love thunderstorms, cats, sewing and crafts, tap dancing, singing, whistling, and my adorable grandchildren. 5. I usually stay up too late at night. 6. I love watching viral videos (I usually do numbers 5 and 6 together). 7. I have my Permit to Carry. 8. I am a member of Blue Man Group (who can prove I’m NOT?!?) 9. I am a compulsive list maker (so this is fun for me). 10. I often play my harmonica while waiting at stoplights. 11. I have a terrible memory.
Karen - Alto: I am excited to be singing with this talented and lovely group of ladies. I sang in high school choirs and more recently in small group church choirs. I love to sing the harmony along with the radio, sometimes inventing my own. I enjoy listening to all types of music, watching theater, visiting museums and parks, appreciating nature and reading. When not working I usually have multiple gardening, crafting or home decorating projects to spend time on.
Sarah - Mezzo: My first season with NOTEable Singers was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and my second we rehearsed mostly virtually. I have high hopes for this season because singing in-person with these lovely ladies is the highlight of my week. I spend my days evaluating state-run government programs and the rest of my time hanging out with my wonderful husband and our two adorable kiddos. I love Zumba, yoga, soccer, reading, and the outdoors. I crave laughter and a little bit of peace and quiet. I am--perhaps literally--the most organized person you will ever meet.
Judy - alto: It is a delight to sing with such a talented, enthusiastic and joyful group of women! Music is a huge part of my life. I’ve been singing in church and schools choirs since pre-school and currently sing in the contemporary and traditional choirs at Redemption Lutheran Church here in Bloomington as well as with the Bloomington Chorale. I also enjoy reading, baking, walking at the Arboretum and attending as many concerts and musicals here in the Twin Cities, as possible. The absolute highlight of our family’s year has been the birth of our precious granddaughter, Mila Rose! Everything you hear about having grandchildren is true!! She is a blessing beyond description!!
Lori – Alto: I was born and raised in beautiful Bloomington and am thrilled to be singing with my NOTEable Singers “Sisters” and cherish the friendships we share! I have been with this fabulous choir for 11 years and thrilled to watch it grow under new energetic leadership! For the past few seasons I have been instrumental in setting the stage and writing the script for each of our performances. I am also an actress involved community theatre productions, most recently with Eagan Theatre Company in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged. In my spare time I like to read (anything from James Patterson or Jodi Picoult), take long walks and hang out with family and friends!
Faye - Mezzo: Faye recently retired as a statistician with the Federal Government and is looking forward to spending more time with her family.
