Kenzie - Soprano, joined 2022: Howdy! I’m a 29-year-old Android software engineer at Target HQ living in Bloomington with my boyfriend and 4 kitties! This is my third year in NOTEable Singers, but this time as a soprano! Between growing up in Montevideo, MN, then heading off to college at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN, I’ve participated in many choral experiences, from All-State choir to madrigal choir to honor choir to chamber choir to women’s choir! During my free time, I am often found playing with my hair, makeup, and clothes, retro-gaming, surveying the night sky for meteor showers and auroras, identifying birds and bugs, trying new beers at various breweries, hanging with friends, and cuddling with my cats!
Kris - Soprano
Kris - Soprano, joined 2012: I'm from Bloomington. Music for me was playing piano and later drums in high school and at the U of M bands. I am a retired police officer, and my retirement jobs are teaching Pilates and driver discount classes for seniors. I’ve always loved live theater-especially musicals and did some acting. But I decided I like just singing and dancing better. I love belonging to this group of talented and dedicated women! I like the challenge of learning new music and sharing my love of music with others. My favorite hobbies are gardening, golfing, exercising, making gourmet food and watching my son perform with the Minnesota Opera and other organizations.
Krys - Soprano
Krys - Soprano, joined 2007: Music has always been an important part of my life. I have been singing since I was in elementary school and have been a member of a choir since I was 8 years old. I was a singer at Luther College in the Cathedral and Collegiate choirs. Before joining NOTEable singers I sang with The Northwestern Singers in Austin and the St. Peter Choral Society. I am also a teacher of English Language Learners and enjoy reading and attending Minnesota Twins games.
Lisa - Soprano
Lisa - Soprano: Lisa grew up in a small town, where she sang for the school and church choirs. She says that singing with the NOTEables gives her great joy, and a much-needed chance to interact with ‘real people’ (she works from home). Lisa describes herself as a ‘background’ singer, which is convenient, because she typically IS in the back row due to her lofty stature. She has two grown daughters, a senior poodle, and recently added a new puppy to the family. She’s been with the NOTEables for over 10 years, and deeply values the friendships and support this group has brought into her life.
Megan - Soprano
Megan - Soprano: There are many characters in my life story. I am a: daughter, granddaughter, sister, teacher (3rd grade Spanish Immersion) dancer, singer, church volunteer, friend, and so much more. My favorite role is being Auntie Megan to 5 beautiful kiddos! There are many things that I love to do. Wish there was enough time to do all of them! Skiing, reading, laughing, traveling, photography, dancing, singing, playing piano, watching movies, playing games. Music has always been a big part of my life! From dancing around the kitchen while mom was quizzing me on my spelling words, learning to play the piano, listening to my grandpa Al play the concertina, dad playing the oldies on the radio, grandpa Allan teaching me new songs to sing, making up silly songs with my mom and sister, and all my years in school choirs. I don't think I could ever give it up. To many wonderful memories when it comes to music in my life!
Shimin - Soprano
Shimin - Soprano, joined 2017: I enjoy music and like to hum along as it brings me joy and comfort. Though I did not have any past choir experience, becoming a member of NOTEables in 2017 was the right choice.  I had to take some breaks to focus on my career but I am happy to be back now. I love learn the songs, practice the dance movement, and perform in the Senior Centers.  Outside of NOTEables, I am a Data Engineer, a member of Traveler's Insurance Company Holiday Choir, and enjoy outdoors and practice Chinese square dance.  I hope you enjoy our music and the connections it brings.

Mary - Mezzo
Mary - Mezzo, joined 2010: I've been around music all my life -- my grandparents and great-aunt and uncle sang barbershop quartet, so family holidays were full of piano, banjo and ukulele renditions of old songs. I started playing ukulele in kindergarten; was in school choirs as soon as I was old enough; got my first guitar at age 10; played and sang in various church and school groups all through high school and college. When another show choir mom invited me to join NOTEables, I jumped in and have had a great time since 2010.
Meg L – Mezzo
Meg - Mezzo, joined 2017: When she's not singing or carrying out the relentless whims of her tiny humans, Meg can be found: (1) Reading. (2) Buying gardening plants her husband seems to think they don't need. (3) Starting new crochet projects while the many old ones gaze on in betrayal from a bag or bin, unfinished as they may stay. (4) Trying to figure out how she might convince her husband that they've always had a cat if she ever figures out where he might have previously overlooked a litter box existing and finds a cat to adopt. (5) Reminding her husband that yes, their tiny humans did give him attitude and yes, it is his own fault because they are throwing his own shade back at him and he owes her for giving her 2 more of his own personality to deal with.
Melanie - Mezzo
Melanie - Mezzo, joined 2023: My dad gave me a love of math, science and engineering. I landed in technical journalism. My mom gave me a love of music. I landed in piano lessons at the St Louis School of Music by age 7. High school chorale was way too daunting, so I stuck to solo piano until Stanford when I switched to alto saxophone—answering the call to "Come Join the [iconic World's Largest Rock and Roll (Un)Marching] Band." Football 0 Band ♾️ That did it. Their infamy triggered my love affair with amateur ensembles. Opera is my mom's first love but this baby boomer finally found the Note-able Singers, another zany amalgam blending quirk and quality. I love harmonizing with my new fabulously fun family—and it's "All Right Now"! (lsjumb.stanford.edu/about)
