NOTE-able Singers

Bloomington's Dynamic
Women's Show Choir

About Us

~ NOTE-able Singers began in 1974 as an outreach of the Washburn Elementary School PTA. Originally called “Sugar and Spice Singers,” we had eight vocalists take part that first year.

~ Years later, after discontinuing our association with the PTA, we added more singers, changed our name to NOTE-able Singers and became a member of the Bloomington Fine Arts Council.

~ In the fall of 2003 we moved to the new Bloomington Center for the Arts where we have excellent facilities for rehearsals and performances. We stage our spring concert in the Schneider Theater at the Center.

~ With our exciting repertoire of show tunes, jazz and swing numbers, ballads and folk songs, as well as special holiday music and tap dancing, we are able to design a show for a vast array of audiences. Throughout the year, we perform for banquets, garden clubs, churches, civic and other community organizations, at senior residences and shopping malls.  (For information about scheduling a performance, click here.)

~  The theme for our 2009/2010 concerts is "Big City Swing."  We will be highlighting various cities and the songs that originated in each city.  The themes include Broadway from New York City, Ragtime, Jazz and Swing from New Orleans, Big Band Sounds from Chicago, American Bandstand from Philadelphia, Rhythm and Blues from Memphis and Music from the Movies from Hollywood.
